The staff were fantastic they were very friendly and hospitable. Rooms were very very good and the views were absolutely amazing.
Breakfast at the villas was good but not catered for weather and kitchen facilities for staff. Service was fantastic but severely understaffed at the villas and the kitchen facilities were minimal for their big service task.
This hotel is extremely relaxing and is excellent!
My family and another 2 families like the location very much because of the very clean & peaceful environment near the beach. The beach side was superb. We also like the attached swimming pools as it was fun for the children.
There were bedbugs (or some type of bugs) in both bedrooms. Most of us got bitten & couldn't sleep comfortably. The water heater in the common shower room and lights in the master bathroom were out of order on 2 different days during our stay & we had to call the technical personnel to check everytime which was inconvenient. The complimentary breakfasts should include 4 children instead of only 2 as there are 2 bedrooms in the villa fit for 2 families to stay. The service at the breakfast cafe was terrible. We wanted to combine 2 tables together as we are 2 big families with lots of children. Instead of offering some help, the Supervisor in-charged at that time yelled with dissatifaction at my sister in-law. Very bad impression.
The location of the Resort is excellant. The beach is excellant. The facilities are very good and comfortable.
Shuttle bus services between the villas to the main resort needs to be improved. At times we had to wait almost 15 minutes for the evening shuttle. Morning shuttle service was acceptable.
Food and facilities were Ok. Great beachside massage. Staff try hard and are friendly but poor training and non-existent management overwhelm any efforts they might make.
Poor maintenance. Dreadful service. Like almost everything tourism-related in Sabah (except street food, which is brilliant and cheap), seriously overpriced for the level of service and quality. Food was bland and laughably over-priced when compared to local restaurants. Isolated location means you are stuck here far from the 'real' Sabah experience.
Nexus was advised me by one of my Malaysian college, and fully fulfill my expectation. 6 km. of sandy beach, just two steps from your rooms, that are located in handmade tropic garden with some jungle animals and birds, with access to brilliant Spa and sport facilities such cycling, gorges golf course and etc. Outside of resort is located tropic garden with walk ways when you can discover tropic life. Good breakfast and three restaurants inside that you can use for quite fair price. The main plus of resort it is accommodation itself. Huge room with king bed, bath and shower separated, that is inside house made in Malaysian style.
Minus of resort is remote location with out access to ATM, but there is shuttle for 24 RM per person. Taxi to Airport will cost you 85 RM. Visit to Kota Kinabalu maintain will cost you 260 RM in one way only for transportation.
The staff tried hard and were very courteous
I picked up a gastric virus and spent the whole time in my hotel room. My fiancee stepped on a rusty nail (which was not rectified after the incident) and we had to make a trip to the local doctor for a tetnus etc (not ideal for me as i was really not well). Everything in the room looked nice but was not well built, i.e. everything was slightly loose. We booked a Spa suite to end our honeymoon and was disappointed with the Spa Suite wing. It is located approx 1 mile from the main wing (not 400m as stated on their website!!) and the only way to access the main resort after dark is by shuttle bus. Again not ideal if not feeling great. The dining options at the spa suite block is very poor (Dive Bar One).
Pool Villa - Location, location, location! Staff very friendly and trying to be helpful. Good choice at breakfast, but slow keeping up with demand - often ran out of items (fruit, yoghurt, bread etc).
The Pool Villa had kitchenette with hob, fridge/freezer, sink, kettle and lots of cupboard space - lovely! But there were only a few plates, 4 cups/saucers and 4 glasses, 4 tablespoons, 4 teaspoons and 4 forks. That's it. No saucepans or knives - not even a butter knife! When we challenged staff we were told that we are only supposed to do "light cooking eg soups" - without soup bowls and saucepan?! Not good. We also had to "fight" to get a parasol (which was clearly shown in their brochure). Needless to say, we bought essentials ie can opener, corksrew, sharp knife, scissors etc at reasonable cost from supermarket (own transport recommened - 15 min drive from resort, although shuttle service is provided). Also, we think it was overpriced
massage on the beach, quiet enviornment
run out of hot water, flood in our room due to leakey faucet
The hotel is located outside of the city and embedded in a very nice landscape. For people who are looking for a place to relax, this hotel offers you the ideal environement. If you want to remove the stress, it is almost perfect.
The prices for food and drinks are quite high compared to the average malaysian costs. Nevertheless, the food is okay.
I booked one deluxe room & one poor villa. Both of them are comfort, clean and grand. I like all environment in resort such as swimming pool, beach and green. I special thanks to Resort which helped me to make a surprising birthday party to my girlfriend. It is excellent.
Air-conditioning system was malfunctioned when we stayed. However, maintainance team has a quick response to solve the problem. It had a little bit of negative feeling. Overall, it is quite good.
they got the best beach i ever seen! the pool villa i stay is lovely, with the private pool just beside the villa, the design of the villa is nice too! the food served in nexus is tasty, and got alot of choice! great place to visit, will definitely come back for Nexus!
I like everything about the Pool Villa!
I stayed in Pool Villa 164, Many of the lightning is not working, living room aircon is not so cold, master bedroom's aircon temperature was at 16 degree even though the controller shown at 30.
It was nice to stay at the luxury pool villa with two bed rooms. They looked all clean and neat. Lunch time at the table outside the room was absoutely fantasitic.
The shuttle bus transportation service between the pool villa and the main loby was quite poor. The cars which run every 30min were so small that they could not accomodate all the passengers occasionally. Self-driving golf baggy might be much better for that purpose. It took whole a day for the room service guys to visit us for taking care of the crippled TV tuner upon the third request. The small towels were not supplied unless we request them except on the first arrival day in such a gorgeous villa. Our Diners credit card accepted as the initial guarantee on reservation could not be used for paying the bill.
This is my second time in Nexus, this time I stayed 12 Nights, was very relaxing, my kids enjoy it as well, When i come back to KK, definately i will stay in Nexus
Very beautifull Beach, with amazing sun set
